Who we are

Transforming fashion takes business guts and design vision, so BYT is founded on three pillars: product, people and practices. Read about BYT Impact. We don’t want you to buy more clothes. Instead, we want you to buy into our belief that fashion must be cared - for which is why you can either rent, buy or wear and then return your BYT item to us and we’ll repair or recycle it. Together, we can stylishly and seriously up the culture around clothes and Begin Your Tradition with BYT.

BYT's Mission

Our vision is a world where fashion, which has always been a reflection of our times, goes back to her roots: becoming cherished, honoured and individual. We believe that fashion’s waste can turn into beautiful, creative and scalable solutions for the environment and help empower those involved in fashion’s creation. We believe that fashion can be a force for good and we’re out to catalyze change in the industry, by being change agents. We like to act Beyond Your Today making fashion better for tomorrow.

How it all started

The idea for BYT was born when co-founders Christina Dean and Michelle Bang previously worked together at Redress, the environmental charity educating about sustainable fashion since 2007. Their shared belief for a better future in fashion inspired them to co-found BYT, which is a whole new company with its own brave mission. As well as being a global sustainable fashion brand, BYT collaborates with the fashion industry as a change agent. Along the way, BYT works with world-class sustainable manufacturers, supports social enterprises who employ disenfranchised workers and creates careers opportunities for Bold Young Talents, who we believe have the creativity to push a new, ethical frontier for fashion.
